I’m a tech wizard, but I’m not a miracle worker! Before you bring your device to the bench, I always recommend a fresh backup. Technology is unpredictable, and I want to make sure your photos, save games, and ‘important’ spreadsheets stay safe while I’m under the hood.
Quick Jump Menu:

📱 iPhone & iPad
The easiest way is iCloud.
- Connect to Wi-Fi.
- Go to Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud.
- Tap iCloud Backup and hit Back Up Now.
Cody’s Tip: If you’re out of iCloud space, plug it into your Mac or PC and use iTunes/Finder to do a local backup!
🤖 Android (Pixel, Samsung, etc.)
Since I’m a Pixel 7a guy myself, I trust Google One.
- Go to Settings > Google > Backup.
- Ensure “Backup by Google One” is on and tap Back Up Now.
- For photos, make sure your Google Photos app says “Backup Complete.
💻 Windows PCs
Don’t just trust the cloud!
- The Cloud Way: Ensure OneDrive is synced for your Desktop, Documents, and Pictures.
- The Hard Way (Recommended): Grab an external hard drive or a large thumb drive. Copy your
C:\Users\[YourName]folder directly onto it. - If your computer won’t boot, don’t panic—that’s what you’re paying me for! I’ll try to slave the drive and pull your data first. (No Guarantee though)
🕹️ Vintage Systems (Commodore, Apple II, etc.)
“Backup” meant something different in 1984! If you have files on old floppies or hard cards you can’t access, just let me know. Part of the Second Wind service is helping you digitize that old data before the magnetic media gives up the ghost entirely.
